ABOUT about djGATES
Music was a big influence for Gates since he was very young so it was only natural for him to get into the world of DJing. Gates was lucky enough to have two uncles who were DJs and had access to all the equipment and music for him to begin learning the business early. In 1990 Gates was asked to get involved with running some Teen Dances in Welland. Playing music every week for a few hundred teens proved to be tons of fun and provided an income to continue purchasing CDs & Vinyl on a regular basis. School Dances, house parties and other similar events added to his experience preparing him for the night club scene. Once he turned 19 he began working the club scene all over Niagara at hotspots like Cell Block, Club Xtreme & Impaxx to name a few. Over the years he has travelled all over to work crowds from just a few to as many as a few thousand. Gates is proud to be able to please just about any crowd with his knowledge and library of all types of music ranging from Hip Hop, RnB, Reggae, House, Top 40, Soca, Old School and more.
